School, New Car, and of course Cayden....

I know it has been awhile since I posted any pictures of Cayden. So, here you go. I took a few this weekend and a couple this morning.

This week has been the first week that it has been just Cayden and I since I started school. Bill had been home for a month. It has been rough at times especially because I had a test Thursday night. It is hard working, going to school, taking care of a 7 1/2 month old, doing chores around the house (bottle washing, laundry, etc.), and trying to find time to study for a test. But I managed and think I did okay. We will see come Thursday night when I get my test back.

I did get a new truck. I think I might have mentioned that last post but I didn't have pictures:

Isn't she a beauty! I love it. I feel much better about Cayden being in the car with me. I thought everyone on the road was going to run over us and smash us.

Here are some pictures of Cayden this weekend with Papaw:

This is my dad and Cayden. Cayden is listening to his first Bastrop Ram game. We played Riverwood and stomped them, of course. Inever doubted them. They won 40-12.

Papaw singing to Cayden. Cayden was getting fussy and he calmed down when Papaw sang to him.

My dad playin air guitar with Cayden. Too cute!! I love this picture.

Here are a few from this morning:

Cayden playing in the playpen. He is sitting on a blanket my great grandmother made for Phillip. She died before I was born. But Phillip has some beautiful baby blankets that Cayden now gets to use. Thanks Mamaw Bennett.

Cayden is his walker. He can now touch the floor and just moves back about 2 inches at a time. He hasn't learned to go forward yet.

Time to relax for just a bit:

Okay well I need to get off this thing and go take care of my child.

Until next time,

Gustav Gone....

Hi everyone. I am so slacking on the blog. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are okay with alot to be thankful for. Bill's mother had family in from New Orleans this week. And she got to see her son (Bill's younger brother) also. It was good to see everyone. It was so good to see Bill's brother Randy because we haven't heard anything from him in 3 years. Hopefully he will keep in touch because we all miss him very much.

Gustav hit and left my in-laws without power for about half a day. Entergy was claiming it could be around 36 hours before they got power back. As I said, they had people from South Louisiana visiting so glad they got it back. My parents were without power maybe 30 minutes or so a couple of times. We never lost power but we did lose 2 trees in our backyard and a fence or two. Both trees uprooted out of the ground and fell on our fences into the neighbors' yards. Bill has alot to clean up. Chase is with us and he got out for 3 days this week. He has to go back to school tomorrow. I got out of school for 2 days but had to work. Actually I was kinda lazy and only worked one of the days. (My mom would have called me out of that one) So everyone is safe and got a little break out of the situation. BUT....

Hanna is on her way and I am a little worried having friends and family in Florida. Say a little pray for them tonight.

I am at school right now during a break between classes so no pics this time.
Oh and....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL MOTHER!!!
You will have to guess her age because she would kill me if I told the whole world!

Love to all,
Linzay

Just an update

I just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on. I have so much to be thankful for and thank God everyday for the blessings he has given me. Like my beautiful baby boy, my handsome boyfriend who he continues to watch over safely(while doing a very dangerous job), my wonderful parents who support me no matter what, other family, friends, etc.... I have never been as happy as I am right now. With the exeption of last Wednesday night. My little man has started the teething process and boy is it exhausting. He has done a 360 lately here at nighttime. He is so irritable and just seems so miserable. But he does want his mommy when he is not feeling well. I think it is something a baby is born with, to want their mommy when they are sick. Daddy (Bill) is the fun parent and Mommy is the soothing parent. It is quite amazing that they pick up on that so young.

So, to all who have inquired, Uncle Tip is my big brother Phillip. He wants Cayden to call him Uncle Tip. I have been getting questions about where does Uncle Tip come from. When I was young and learning to talk, I could not say Phillip. When I tried to say Phillip it came out as Tip. Hence the name Uncle Tip. My dad still calls him Tip (I do not).

The only thing that has happened since the last time I posted was that we went out to the river. Bill, Phillip, Phillip's friend Justin, and I went out and had a blast. It was Good Times (as my uncle would say) LOL. You have to be in on the joke to get that one. We had a little fun on the rope swing, stopped by my Uncle Michael's place, hung out at the sandbars, tried the tube out and called it a day. With a little bit of drinkin and alot of laughs in between. I loved it because I asked Phillip and Justin if they wanted to tube and both said they haven't done it in years since they were kids. Then Phillip looks at me and says, "Show me how it is done lil' sis." So of course I did. And Phillip and his friend followed. I had such a good time that day. I will post pictures of our day later. I am at my parents and I did not bring my camera with me. Hence, no pictures this post.

Tomorrow I plan on Cayden going swimming with me. So expect pics (via Nana's camera).
Okay, till tomorrow!

Love to all,

All about Cayden...

Ok now that Cayden had a bath, ate, and down for his nap, maybe I can update. Cayden is now 5 months old and he weighed 13 lbs. 6 oz. yesterday. He is a little on the skinny side, but he is on target for all other developments. He rolled from his stomach to his back on July 3rd and from his back to his stomach on July 9th. He also experienced fireworks for the first time on the 4th. He loved them and stared at them the whole time. I was afraid he would cry. We had a great 4th of July. Ok here are some recent pictures of Cayden....

He is just too cute. How can you not love that beautiful, perfect little boy!

Cayden is laid back in the hammock at Nana and Papaw's house (Linzay's parents)!

Cayden and Uncle Tip high-fiving it.

Uncle Tip and Cayden again. Cayden loves his uncle.

Look at those beautiful blue eyes.

He does have his moments, but only at feeding time. He was eating cereal with applesauce and I wanted to get a picture with it all over his face. I really zoomed in to close.

Play time!!!

Cayden is playing with his favorite toy.

Sacked out!!! I actually took this picture this morning.

Ok well I got to get off this thing and get some stuff done. I hope everyone had a good 4th and continue to pray for all our troops.

Love to all,

Linzay

Cayden's first swim

OK, lots of new things to report....here are pictures of Cayden's first swim at Nana and Papaw's house.

I will try to add another post later today. I have lots more to tell and show.

Day of fun in the sun...

Sorry, it has been almost a month since I posted anything. Bill was in for 2 weeks and I guess I enjoyed just spending our time together.

We went to the river a couple of times. Bill and I actually got to go by ourselves one time (that never happens). I think we have been out one other time just us. We also went to the river and took some of Bill's family. My mom has been begging to keep Cayden without me around. Not that I wouldn't let her, it just never has worked out where I have something to do all day. Because we all know Cayden is not allowed to have sleepovers without me. Anyway, Bill, Chase, Mrs. Donna (Bill's mother), Randy (Bill's nephew), Lindsey (Bill's neice) and me all went to the river last weekend. We had so much fun. I think it was actually 2 weeks ago. Here are some of the pictures that I took that day:

And, here are some pics of Chase tubing out on the Ouachita River. He just loves being outdoors and being on the boat. He loves the heck out of some tubing and is the first to go and show us how it is done....

That boy makes me laugh so hard. He is entertainment that is for sure. And then Randy and Lindsey went for a spin.

And here I am water skiing. Okay can't believe I am putting this picture on here, but oh well. Enjoy and laugh your butts off. It's fun!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I am at the parents house and they are taking me and Cayden out to eat Chinese.

Hope you all enjoy!

Love to all,

Linzay

Family Portraits

Hi all, I know it has been awhile. I have been slacking on the blog but there is just not enough time in my days. Alot has been going on.

We had portraits made at Sears Portrait Studio. I bought the copyright to the pictures so I can post them, share them, do with them what I wish. Lord knows that I paid enough money. But they where Cayden's first official photos so I justify myself that way. We went last Saturday to have the pictures taken. Bill was not enthusiastic but he ended up having a good time. He did say he was glad I planned it. Chase wanted to have his picture taken (although you can't tell). He says he doesn't smile in any picture. Funny how he smiles when I take pictures out on the boat, huh? Anyway Chase was excited. And I had a great time. Here are a few of the pictures that we took.

Cute huh? I think they all turned out pretty good.

Last Sunday I got to go to Caney Lake in the boat. It was so much fun. Bill, Chase, Karen, Kylie, Randy, Lindsey and I went. I got to tube and water ski. I missed it so much last summer. The water was freezing but I had to ski. I got up on the first try. I figured after not being able to ski in such a long time I would fall flat on my face. I actually did fall flat on my face later, but that was Bill's fault. Mrs. Donna (Bill's mother) kept Cayden for us. Karen and I had a great time singin, dancin, and chugging back a few. It was so much fun. Did I mention I got a little toasty. My knees really got burnt. I did use sunscreen but just a little too late. GOOD TIMES!!! That's my new phrase by the way.

Everything else is going good. Work is going good. And life doesn't get better than being a mommy to my sweet baby boy. He is such a good baby. Anybody that has spent anytime around him knows. Anyway I will leave you with one more pic of Cayden in daddy's boat. And NO we were not out on the water, we were in Mrs. Donna's driveway.

Until next time,

Linzay

Mother's Day....Great Weekend

Sorry that I haven't updated in a while. Trust me having a baby and going back to work has been a little rough. By the time I get through with bottles and Cayden a bath and me a bath it is 10:00pm and time to go to bed. Ah, but it is all worth it.

My first Mother's Day was fantastic and it is one I will never forget. We turned it into a whole weekend of festivities. Bill came in Friday night about 11:00pm. On Saturday, we had a crawfish boil at my parents house. It was just my parents, me and Bill, Chase, Cayden, Phillip and Justin Justice. We bought 65 pounds of crawfish and boiled them in a turkey fryer. And we really did put a big dent in them. We had some left over but within 2 days they were gone. Bill was boiling crawfish from about 3:00 till about 9:00. He was tired. My mom wanted the crawfish boil for Mother's Day, so she received. My mother got me flowers and a card (that made me cry), my dad got me a beautiful picture album from Arnett's that was silver and had Cayden's name engraved in it, Bill got me a dozen long stemmed roses (my favorite kind) and a card from him and a card from Cayden. The card from Cayden had Cayden's footprints and handprints in it. Bill bought a finger paint set and put Cayden's signature on the card. Cayden had blue toes all day long. It was so nice. Bill really suprised me because he put alot of thought into it. He did good.

This is a really good picture of Cayden. One of my favorites right now.

A couple of weeks ago, I came to Bastrop for the weekend and my friend Lynda was in town visiting her parents. Lynda was my best friend back in grade school. So I went and spent one afternoon hanging out with her and catching up with her parents. Good Times!! It was her first time seeing Cayden and I have to say I think she was smitten (I put that word in for you Lynda). She wanted to take Cayden back to Florida with her. Anyway, I had a good time catching up with her and D-Dub. Her dad still cracks up.

Till next time,

Love to all,

Me and Daddy.....

Bill has left and it is just me and Cayden again. Chase came and stayed the weekend with us. Bill left Friday night and Chase, Cayden and I stayed up and watched a movie Saturday night. It was nice. Chase has his cellphone taken away right now so he actually wasn't holed up in his room all night.

Cayden is doing good and growing like a weed. He is getting so big. It really does go by fast. It is hard to believe he is almost 3 months.

Here is a picture of Bill and Cayden sleeping when Bill came in this week. And yes Bill needed to shave. You can see all the gray stuble.

Love to all,

OK new pics!!! Look at my little man all tuckered out.

Check out me and my papaw! I was watching him do his thang with the stock market but I got tired and decided to take a nap.

Cayden right after his first bath in his bathtub.

I had been giving him sponge baths up until this point. My mom got on my case because he was 2 months old before I gave him a bath in water. I was waiting on Bill to come in so he could be there but he came and went, so I had to give him a real bath. I got it on video tape and lots of pics for Bill to see when he gets back.

My mom is smokin hot, huh? LOL! Just thought I would throw in a picture of me.
So, I went back to work this week. It was good to be back at work and around adults. Like I told my dad, I was starting to talk "baby talk" all the time. Bill's mother is keeping Cayden while I work and she is loving it. I miss him terribly and can't wait to see him when I get off of work. I am waiting on the speeding ticket that I know is coming soon.
Just wanted to give an update with new pics for everyone to see.
Much love,
Linzay
